Educational Therapy (English/Chinese)
Educational Therapists (ET) are trained to support children in their literacy and numeracy skills. To do so, they draw on knowledge from various programmes and resources (e.g. Orton-Gillingham approach)
The approach taken in Educational Therapy is different from that of tuition, where there is closer adherence to a curriculum. Educational Therapists draw up individualised lesson plans for the children based on areas of difficulties and also pitch it appropriately according to their needs.
(For special needs tuition, please get in touch with us to find out more.)
They also work closely with other professionals (speech therapists, teachers, educational psychologists, occupational therapists etc.) and parents to implement strategies beyond the classroom/clinic room.
*Our educational therapists are also able to conduct Chinese lessons.*
Dyslexia
Dyslexia is a learning difficulty related to a child's language learning abilities and cognition. Dyslexia primarily affects reading and writing skills, but can also affect the overall acquisition of literacy skills and impact on organisational skills, amongst others.
Educational therapists are skilled at helping children who have difficulties as a result of dyslexia.
ADHD
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a disorder characterised by inattention, hyperactivity, impulsitivity and emotional dysregulation. This can often lead to difficulties with general learning.
Educational therapists will be able to devise strategies to facilitate and maximise each child's learning.
Dyscalculia
Dyscalculia is a learning difficulty associated with the understanding of numbers and performing mathematical calculations.

Educational therapists come up with tailored plans to facilitate a child's understanding of these concepts and to target the difficulties associated with dyscalculia directly.
Executive Function Difficulties
Different conditions can present with difficulties with executive function (e.g. Autism, Intellectual disability). This can range from difficulty with organisational skills to processing information.

Educational therapists are able to understand each child's circumstances intimately and help overcome these challenges through carefully planned tasks and practice.
Chinese Lessons
Our educational therapists are able to provide support and help for Chinese language learning as well!
