Frequently Asked Questions
- 01Early intervention means starting therapy support as soon as a developmental concern is noticed — usually before age 6 — rather than waiting to "see if they grow out of it." If your child is missing speech or language milestones, showing difficulty with fine or gross motor skills, or struggling with social interaction, an assessment is the best first step. It doesn't commit you to anything; it just tells you where your child stands.
- 02Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy are 1-to-1 sessions targeting specific skill areas — e.g. communication for ST, motor/sensory/self-regulation for OT. Dinosaur School is our structured group-based Early Intervention and School Readiness Programme, where children attend regular half-day sessions combining therapy, teaching, and play, rather than a single weekly session.
- 03Dino Squad is our learning support programme for children aged 6–9 who are attending mainstream school but quietly struggling — keeping up on the surface while finding things harder than they should be. It's built for kids "in between": coping well enough that a formal diagnosis or label isn't the point, but who'd clearly benefit from targeted support. Dino Squad isn't after-school childcare — it's specialised learning support, structured around helping your child manage mainstream school more confidently.
- 04We're a private centre — our fees aren't subsidised. This lets us keep smaller group sizes, more flexible scheduling, and individualised programming for every child, which is why many families choose us alongside or instead of subsidised options.
- 05We primarily work with children from toddler age through primary school age, though we also see older children/youths for various needs. Therapy/Programme fit depends on the child's specific needs — a free consultation is the fastest way to find out what's appropriate.
- 06No formal referral or diagnosis is required to begin. Many families come to us with a general concern rather than a diagnosis, and our assessment process helps clarify what support (if any) is needed.
- 07Each child has individualised goals set by their therapist or teacher, reviewed regularly, with updates shared with parents so you can see progress — and reinforce it — outside of sessions too.
- 08Message us on WhatsApp at +65 8028 8535, or email rawr@dinosaurspeechtherapy.sg. We offer a free initial consultation to discuss your child's needs before you commit to a programme or therapy.
