About
Sarah graduated from La Trobe University (Australia) with a Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Occupational Therapy Practice. She has had experiences working with children and adults in a variety of settings such as hospitals, schools, early intervention centres, and private practice in Australia and in Singapore.
Sarah is equipped to administer assessments and provide intervention to support children with a variety of conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Intellectual Disabilities, Dyspraxia, Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), Down’s Syndrome, Developmental Delays etc.
She has experience working with children to improve their motor skills, handwriting, sensory regulation, executive functioning, emotional regulation and increasing independence in activities of daily living. Sarah has had training in DIR Floortime and is committed to looking for opportunities to build on her skill sets and knowledge through professional development and workshops.
Sarah values the importance of developing relationships with her clients and families through family-centred practice. She believes that working closely with parents, caregivers, teachers and other professionals is a vital point in creating a supportive environment for the child. She strives to ensure that therapy with the child is creative, enjoyable and engaging as it creates an environment that motivates the child to help learn best and reach their full potential. She also strives to ensure that therapeutic approaches are client-centred hence tailored and fitted for each individual child.
In her personal time, Sarah enjoys going to different cafes, exploring walking trails and going on forest hikes with her dog. She also enjoys building LEGO and painting by numbers as a way to unwind.
