About
Tynn Yi has a strong passion for advocating for neurodivergence and working with children, with a special interest in Autism and ADHD in girls and women. She feels that deepening her knowledge about neurodivergence has helped her become a better educator by understanding and empathising with her students.
She has extensive experience as an educator, previously working as an Educational Therapist for Dyslexic children at Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS). She believes that the foundation of effective education is achieved by creating inclusive learning environments that cater to the needs of every child, and is often experimenting with out-of-the-box ideas.
Classrooms are not hierarchical – they are spaces where both children and adults are afforded the same respect, and all voices are heard. Tynn Yi believes firmly that children are often more intelligent and independent than we think they are, and cares deeply about making sure her students are seen, heard, and feel safe.
When she’s not at work, chances are that she’ll be busy climbing plastic rocks – or coaching children to do so!
