Justin Yeong

Teacher J is an educator who enjoys working with young children and, perhaps most importantly, figuring out what makes each child tick. With experience supporting children with diverse learning and developmental needs, he has learnt that there is rarely a single approach that works for everyone.

He is particularly interested in understanding the why behind a child's behaviour. Rather than looking only at what a child is doing, he likes to take a step back and consider what the child may be trying to communicate, what they may be finding difficult, and what can be changed to help them succeed. That means changing the activity, sometimes changing the environment and sometimes admitting that the original plan needs a little work!

Teacher J enjoys making learning playful and meaningful, whether through phonics, movement, sensory experiences, hands-on activities or simply turning an everyday moment into an opportunity to learn. He believes children learn best when they feel comfortable enough to explore, make mistakes and try again. 

He also values working closely with parents, educators and therapists. He believes everyone sees a different part of a child's journey, and bringing those perspectives together can make a real difference. Above all, he believes that progress does not always have to be a big milestone. Sometimes it is a child trying something for the first time, staying with an activity a little longer, communicating something new, or proudly showing someone what they have learnt. Those little moments are what make the work meaningful.
